ALLEGED IRREGULARITIES.
FRENCH OFFICIAL SUSPENDED. (Received April 13, 9 a.m.) PARIS, April 12. • Regarding the alleged financial and administrative irregularities in thjp cash accountancy departments of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, into which a searching enquiry is nowbeing held, M. Hammond, Director of the Accounts Department, has been suspended pending the result of the investigation. It is understood that the alleged irregularities are totally unconnected with the case against Rouet (.a clerk in the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs), who, with Maimon (a Mahommedan, naturalised in England), J and Pallier (Maimon's secretary), is J charged witn stealing French State . documents and offering to sell them J to other Powers. j HAMMOND ARRESTED. | (Received Last A'igiit, 5.5 o'clock.) { PARIS, April -13.
