A NEW MARKET
FOR AUSTRALIAN MEAT. CONSIGNMENTS TO SWITZERLAND. (Received April 13, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 13. The British Standard Produce Company has delivered 400 carcases of Australian mutton in Switzerland. The meat, which reached its destination in excellent condition, was cai 1 - ried by way of Antwerp in cars fitted with refrigerating machinery. Twenty-five tons of beef and twen-ty-five of mutton and lamb will arrive in Switzerland on the 14th instant, and will all be distributed at Basle, Zurich, and Lausanne. Further consignments via Antwerp and Boulogne are being arranged for. (in January last, the Swiss Government informed Sir George Reid, High Commissioner for Australia, that it intended authorising towns in Switzerland to have freezing facilities and to import meat.)
