SUPERIOR TO OTHER NATIONS.
SIZE MAY STILL INCREASE
(Received Last Night, 10.25 o clock.) LONDON, April 12. The Times says that Britain has four ships afloat, and two more will shortly be launched, all of which will carry 13£ m guns. No other Power had any vessel so far advanced as to mount guns heavier than 12-inch. Possibly Krupp's 14in gun is a fortress gun. If found expedient, Britain already has a 14in gun tested, which could be utilised aboard warships, while it is equally possible that a further advance may ultimately be made to a 15in gun. There is no indication that a stop is likely, and it is at least equally probable that the pendulum may swing the other way.
