GREAT INGkEASE IN ENTRIES.

NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES

SYDNEY, April 11.

The Royal Show commenced to-day in fine weather. Thero is a big attendance. Tho official opening takes place to-morrow. In nearly every department tho entries show a large increase. Tho products are particularly fine, as a result of the exceptionally good season. They include Prevost Bros.' collection of a thousand and twenty distinct varieties of produce grown on a single farm in the Mossvalo district.

The championship for blood stallion was awarded to Mr Hosskisson's Sir Aymer. Mr Crick's Collarit was secand .and reserved champion. Collarit also won the special prize. Other prizes were as follow: — Mares: Seaton's Blue Flyer; trotter stallion, Playfair's Ribbonwood; coacher stallion, Hordern's Gartonius. New Zealand is well represented in tho Clydesdale section. For mares, 4 years and over, Mr John Boag's Gipsy Queen took second prize. In the 3 years fsection, McCarron's Union Queen was second, and John Grant's Kelso Mag third. In fill ies, Grant's Flower was third, while, in the class for active farm mare, Mr Boag's Greta of Westbourne was second.

Tn Clydesdale stallions, (heavy), 3 year, Mr John Boag's Royal Conqueror took second prize, and Royal Favourite third. Tn sheep. Mr John Nixon, of Killinchv. Canterbury, swept tho board for English Leicesters, taking first and champion for ram and ewe, two years, fir.v t for ram under two years, and first and second for ewe under two.

Tn Border Leicester rams, two years, J. B. Reid. of Eldenslie, Onmaru. took first, and Mr Nixon second. Tn ram under two years. Mr Reid was first, and Mr Niron third ; ewe, two years, Nixon second : ewe, under two years. Reid first and champion, Nixon second and reserve, Reid third; Bonn-ey Marsh ram. Reid third; ewe under two years, Reid first.
