"THE SNOWBALL." Indications point to/the fact that the Mountebanks are assured of a | hearty welcome- on Saturday evening. AH who appreciate a clever farce-comedy, well handled, will welcome their season. They will appear for two niglits only, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday. The cast includes Mr C. Bentley Russell, Mr Charles F. Page, Mr Vivian lthind, ; Mr F. Winfird Millar, and Misses ] Mollie Marshall, Eva Sharp, and Irene Mason. Several of these performers are already well and favourably known to Wellington audiences. New faqes will, however, be seen in those of Mr Charles F. Page, an American performer of experience, who is now making his iirst appearance on a New Zealand stage, and Miss Irene Mason, whom Mr Frank | Morton,- the well-known dramatic critic, welcomes as a clever character I actress. "My Costumier's Bill," in which will be worn a. replica of the most graceful of the harem skirts, is to serve as a curtain raiser. Undoubtedly this, of itself, will prove ! an attraction. THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. Something special in the way of pictures was anticipated by the large audience which visited the Foresters'" Hall last evening, nor were they disappointed. for the current series is certainly (ho best seen at the Hall for some time. "The Fox Hunt" was a splendid picture. The meet, the cast-off, the hounds in full cry, and the kill were splendidly portrayed, each incident in connection therewith being true to life. The audience were most demonstrative in their applause of the splendid subject. With the average visitor to the hall the Indian picture is most popular, and these patrons were well catered for last evening in two capital studies, viz., "A Leap for Life," and "A Mohnwlcs Way." The former was a Kalcm film showing a while man's treachery among the redskirs and a sensational leap, while the latter was an A.B. picture set amid the glamour and mvstevv attaching to the "Golden West." "A Child's Stratagem" was a delightful A.B. drama, powerfully acted. Another picture notably alike for its theme and the superb quality of its photography was "Auld Robili Gray," which appealed to al' hearts, especially those hailing froin the land of the heather. A number of excellent seenics and comics were also presented. The programme will be repeated tonight.
