MR MILLAR'S SON.
The case of the projected appointment of a son of the Minister for Railways to the position of "assistant electrician and draughtsman," has takeif an interesting turn, lhe Railway Officers' "Advocate" states that apparently when everything was ready for the completion of the preliminaries—so complete that the Minister defended th« appointment in the press—a hitch came. It was necessary that Mr H. M. Millar should give evidence of the necessary knowledge, either by practical test or examination. It is understood that he has not yet furnished the necessary evidence, and he lacks the position u'hich was the subject of his father's defensive statement about two months, ago.
