Ihe 'Jimaru Dairy Company (a small proprietary), which some timago took over the factory, but no the creameries, of tho South Canter Ji;:y Co-opera-tive Company, thai failed, has also failed, entailing a oss to the suppliers, whose milk and cream is unpaid for. There have boon several lively meetings to eonsi..:v what is to be done.* The Canterbury Company, Christchurch, offers to buy the cream, and the Taieri and Peninsula Companies (Dunedin) are offering to take over the business of the suppliers. Yesterday, on meeting, the suppliers a-sked for delay in the winding up of the Timaru Company in the Hope of resuscitating it. At another meeting, the Taieri and Peninsula representatives made proposals, and a committee ivas set up to consider these, and report at a further meeting. Strong opposition came from North Otago, the objection being that the Taieri and Peninsula Company should not be given a monopoly. The Timaru Company has been .drawing cream from that district.
