LATE COMMERCIAL.
EKETAHUNA SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Eketahuna on Friday, 7th inst. Prices for sheep were about the same as last prices ;■ bidding under the hammer being good. A few clients advertised their stock, thinking rain would fall before this sale ;. and naturally we did not yard stock up to advertised numbers. However, we managed to quit our whole yarding except one pen of cows and calves. Quotations:— 2 and 4tooth ewes, 10s 3d to lis sd; f.f.m. ewes, to 10s Id; f.m. ewes,. 8s 2d 1 ; 2tooth wethers, 10s 9d; mixed woolly lambs, 7s 5d to 8s Id; mixed shorn lambs (poor sorts) 3s 9d, 4s 3d to 6s sd; Lincoln rams, 1 guinea. Cattle.— Srbore cows, £2 15s to £3 ss; cows and calves, £4 ss; weaners, 80s; bulls, to £3.
The N.Z.i Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their sale held yesterday:— Owing to the rough weather, several lines of sheep entered did not come forward, our entry being limited to one pen. We had several lines of good steers, but vendors' reserves in most cases were too high. We quote:— S.m. ewes, 5s 6d; 18-month steers, £3 10s f 2yr steers, £4 lis; fat cows, £4 16s to £5.
