ARRESTS IN FRANCE

Rouet (Clerk to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs), Meamon (an alleged British subject), and Pallier (his secretary) have been arrested, charged with the removal of important documents from the Foreign Office and communicating their contents to a foreign Power.

All the British attaches categorically deny dealing with Povage, the extailor, who has just been sentenced to twelve years' penal servitude for treason in, it was alleged, supplying a British naval attache, on two occasions, with copies of secret flag codes and secret Russian information relating to the navies of other Power;.
