WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
PIPE BAND. The preliminary meeting of the Pine Baud Committee was held in the Dominion Hall on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. There were present —Messrs A. McLeod, J. H. Pauling, J. B. McKenzie, G. R. Sykes. and G. McHattie. Mr J. B. McKenzie was unanimously elected chairman.
At R p.m. a number of pipers attended, and the secretary read apologies from others, making the total membership 23.. Mr J. H. Pauling addressed the pipers present, and suggested the postponement of the meeting for a fortnight to enable the directors to fr.une rules, etc.
It was decido;] to wir> to Asliburton, Tiniani and ])unedin for a eopy of their rules, and that the next meeting of the Band be held on Saturday, April loth, at 8 p.m.', in the Dominion Hall, when the enrolment of members will take place, the Directors, in the meantime, to formulate suitable rules and by-laws. j It was decided to notify Mr Buchanan that the assets of the late Band had been duly handed over, and to acquaint i him with the full position of affairs.
