UNREST IN INDIA
A BRAHMIN TRANSPORTED
(Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) CALCUTTA, April 1. A Brahmin named Modak has been sentenced at Bombay to seven years' transportation for attempting to kill Colonel Ferris by means of a bomb, at Kolahpur. The Judge stated that Modak had utilised Joshi, a Brahmin degenerate, for; purposes of political assassination.
Joshi detailed a plot which had been laid to kill Lord Curzon, Viceroy of India, at the.time of the Delhi durbar.
