THE VESSEL DAMAGES. Received This Morning, 12.30 o'clock. SYDNEY, March 31. The Maheno, which* arrived to-day, encountered a heavy south-west gale. The galo was at its height at midnight on Thursday. Tbe vessel was struck by a tremendous sea, ivhich damaged the deck fittings, smashed a dozen cabin windows, and flooded the smoking room, social hall, and alley way.

The passengers were knee-deep in water.
