EXPORT OF HORSES.
The demands of the Australian market are making serious inroads upon the draught stock of New " v Zealand. During the last year or two, huh T dreds, one may almost say ands of draught horses. . have ; ';. been shipped from the Dominion •to Australia. The prices obtained have been very satisfactory, it is to be feared, however, that the. exportattiojr bf v the bestWf bur draught .will result in a serious decline'iif the quality of our local stock. This is an /aspect of the question which farmers should consider. Can we afford to export the best of our fi.ll-iec,-as has been the case during the last year or two? , And are we taking effective measures to replenish our draught stock ?. \ ,
