PRIORITY FOR VETO BILL.
GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ! EXPECTED.

. v ■ ' LONDON, March 29. It is understod the Government will ! announce to-morrow that it will not oppose the Lords' discussion of the question of their own- reform, but will claim priority for the Veto Bill, relying on a majority in the House bf Commons to carry the Government policy.
The First Commissioner of Works (Earl Beauchamp) resumed the debate in the House of Lords on : the Referendum Bill. He quoted instances where the referendum had failed, notably, in Australia, where , a Labour Ministry had reversed a" vote taken by referendum, and in Canada.' ; where 2S■;> per~ cent of the people had vot-ecL for prohibition. • i ■ : " ■■". ■■■•;■■.
The Referendum Bill debate has been, adjourned, indefinitely.
