Messrs D. K. Logan and C. C. Boss, of Masterton, left yesterday on a business trip to Queensland. '*'..'' The Bight Hon. B. ;, B. Alf-' red Parsons, A.R..A, has been elected a Royal Academician; Mr Justice Girouard; of th&Supreme ; Court of Canada, ; who was thrown from' a sleigh recently, died" on Wednesday.
Sir Robert Stout, C.J.', will arrive' in 'Masterton" to-night, and the sittings of the Supreme Court will be opened on Monday. Mr A. Macintosh, superintendent for Dalgety and Co/in* New Zealand, will leave for London, via Sydney, on Friday next. Another of the fast diminishing band of Southland pioneer, settlers, •Mrs Annie Courtis, passed away in Invercargill last week at the age of 82 years. Mr Arthur E. G. Rhodes, of Christchurch, left by the Sydney boat yesterday to catch the s. s. Otway at Sydney, with-the object of taking up his residence in London.

Mr H. H. Pavitt, representative for, Messrs Seatbn and.Sladden, Masterton branch, left 1 yesterday., afternoon for Little Wanganui, in the' Nelson district, for the purpose of surveying a large block of Government land. Mr Pavitt will be absent from Masterton about two months.
The'wedding took place at Palmerston North on Wednesday of Mr Keith Armstrong, a former resident of Masterton. and Miss Caroline Fleming, third daughter of the late Mr Jubal Fleming. The ceremony was performed by the. Rev. Kendrick. Mr W. P. Henderson acted as best man, and the bride, who was given away by her brother. Mr Bert Fleming, was attended by her'sisters, Misses P. and R. Fleming as bridesmaids.
