In the House of - Commons, the J Prime Minister (Mr Asquith) in reply to a question by Mr W. L. A. Bu'rdett-Coutts, Unionist member -- for-We&minster, skidthat the fact that no formal proposals had been received from President Taft in "regard to an unlimited arbitration treaty, did not necessarily preclude .discussion of the principle at the ■coming. Imperial Conference. He added that the usual channels of consultation with . the Dominions ■V were .always ■ openi and 'available to j the extent ~tha,t any proposals r<v J quired. , ' ' i NEW YORK, March 22. ... Mr Taft is unofficially consulting the French Ambassador at Washington (M. Jusserand) with a view to an. arbitration treaty between France and America. He awaits a disclosure of the Senate's attitude before acting officially in the matter.
