TRAINING COLLEGES.
The system under which teachers are dealtltvith by the various; Education Boards of the Dominion suggests that there is not, that uniformity which is desirable. The Welting- ; ton 'Training 1 ' College -may be taken as an example. This is supposed to ,afford«training for, the' teachers of half-a-dozen or more Boards in the Dominion. And yet the regulations of the. Boards vary to such an extent that. only a portion of the receive the benefit of expert training! If the- Training College is what it is claimed to there is room for diversity of opinion on this point— the attendance of pupilteachers should, iti alt cases, be made mandatory.
