The Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and '. .', '• \ -' --" '■■ Warm and hazy weather, with increasing cloudiness, has prevailed, and a falling barometer, everywhere, 29.42 inches nojv being .'recorded- at; the Bluff. Northerly winds have'increased, and gales have been experienced in Foveaux Strait and parts of the South Island. Rain lias fallen in several places. Present indications are for rain and stormy weather generally. High northerly and westerly winds will probably prevail, changing shortly to southerly in the southern districts. The barometer will probably fall in all parts of the country.
