The Acting-Prime Minister returns to Wellington from Taranaki to-night.
Mr Georgo Coker, of Masterton, who successfully conducted a skating rink in Wanganui last winter, leaves'to-daiy for Stratford, where he opens a rink in the Town Hall.
Mr J. Longstaff. formerly of this town, but now of Russell, Bay of Islands, is at present on a visit to Masterton. -
Mr E. Tooby, formerly of Masterton but now ;of iMotueka, is on a visit to this town. and is staying with his parents in Hogg Crescent.
Mr C. J. Tdcker. Presbyterian student, was in Masterton yesterday. He proceeds to Wellington to-day to aittend the Victoria University sessions.
The Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) arrives in Masterton on Saturday night, and presides over the sitting of the Supreme Court u'lzich opens here on Monday.
The Most Rev. the Primate, accompanied by Mrs Nevill, leaves Dunedin en route for the Old Country to-day. The Bishop of Christchnrch will bo called upon to be Acting-Primate during his absence.
Tfc is understood that Mr .ToTm M'Lachlan is likely to be a candidate for the Ashburton seat at the next general election.
Dr. Poronre is mentioned ns a likely candidate for tho Western Maori electorate next election, states a Press Association message from New Plymouth.
