NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night
The Hon. Carroll, Acting Premier and Native Minister, spent the week end at Parihaka Native village. He explained tftat he"and members of his party, as representing the various tribes, were conforming to the old Maori custom in paying respects to the memory of noted prophets audi chieftains like Te Whiti, and that his visit had no political significance.
