MR ETON'S OPINION.
[To The Editor.] /Sir,— Mr E. G. Eton,>ehemist, of Masterton, states that local option" in this district has been a "perfect failure." Presumably Mr Eton speaks of its effect. upon ■ his own/ business. If,this assumption, be correct, then there could be no greater testimony to the success of No-lioense. There would appear to be no longer a demand for "corpse revivers" and "pick-me-ups." The nerves of the people are no longer being shattered. Consequently there is not the same demand for nerve tonics. The livers and kidneys of our citizens are in their normal condition. Result: Liver pills are not required. So much for the "perfe--- failure" of local option.-J am, etc., ANTI-CANTH. (If. this discussion is to be •continued, we would suggest to correspondents the propriety of signing their names to their epistles.—Ed. ' .'.-Age.)- ... ;-. ; ;■■'.
