TERCENTENARY OF THE BIBLE.
CELEBRATION IN MASTERTON.
-It is proposed to hold a . large civic gathering in the Ma'sterton Town Hall on the 26th of April, m order to fall into line with the many great and wide celebraSfoiis m connection' with. the . tercentenary '* of the authorised version of the Bible.
To this end! a deputation consisting of Ensign Avenell (Salvation Army) and the Revs. H. Watson (St. Matthew's), A. T. Thompson (Presbyterian), C. H. Olds. (Methodist), and A. Hodge (Congregational), waited upon his Worship the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine) yesterday afternoon, to enlist his sympathy, and to request him to preside over the meeting. The Mayor very cordially fell in with the proposal, and promptly consented to preside at the function. Addresses will be given hj various speakers, and a special hymn sheetwill be circulated,, while the choirs of the various churches will bo invited to "combine to lead the singin S- '.''■ ':-'■!.'■ '■'■. ■.
