The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Championship Meeting was held yesterday, in fine weather. The attendance was not more than 1500. A good contingent of competitors wore present from Southland, Otago, Wellington,, and Auckland. The fields in the different events were satisfactory, the largest being the Mile Flat Handicap, in which . sixteen started. Results:—

The gates totalled £llO. 'Wellington retains the Shield with 46 points, Canterbury scoring 34, Sorithland 15, Auckland 10,- and Otago 7. .
