AN EXPLANATION.
Our local contemporary, in its enthusiasm to paint the trada of'Masterton in its worst colours, has, unintentionally, no doubt, made a reference to one or two business firms which is quite . unjustifiable. It makes it appear tnat three separate auctioneering firms have ceased to exist, when, as a. matter of fact, one particular business has merely changed hands, and the present proprietors, Messrs Johnson and Co., are carrying on an active business. Then, again, whilst Messrs Lyttle Bros., have closed . their establishment, Mr J. H. Lyttle is carrying on an up-to-date motor business in Chapel Street,
