AUCKLAND SHARE MARKET. Mr J. T. Hendry, sharebroker, of Auckland (in conjunction with Messrs C. C. Ross and Co., his local agents), report the following quotations of business at the first call on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday morning:— ■ MINING—

HORSE SALE AT PaHIATUA.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having held a most successful sale as above on 15th inst., when they offered just over 100 horses, ranging from heavy harness horses to heavy draughts, broken and unbroken. The quality was of a. high class throughout, practically everything being under five and six years old. Competition was spirited throughout, the bulk of the horses being sold at prices satisfactory to vendors. A large number of horses were purchased for Australia. The auctioneers intend holding another sale shortly, if sufficient entries are forthcoming. Quotations: —Unbroken heavy draughts, £24, £2B 5s to £35 10s; light unbroken draughts, £15,, £l7 10s to £2l 10s; unbroken half-draughts, £lO 10s, £l3 10s to £ls; unbroken light horses, £6 10s, £8 5s to £9 10s; heavy draughts (broken), £3l 10s to £35; light draughts, £2O, £25 to £26 10s; halfdraughts, £ls 10s, £lB 15s to £2O ss; spring carters, £l3 10s, £l4 15s to £lB 15s; harness horses, £B, £ll ss, to £ls 10s.

CLEARING SALE REPORT.

The New- Zealand, Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on the clearing sale of stock, etc., on account of Mr Alfred Matthews, Opaki, yesterday, as.follows:—We had a good representative attendance of farmers and others, and: the stock being good and well-known and the sale without reserve, we had no difficulty in making a clearance at satisfactory prices. Breeding ewes made 10s 6d and 7s lOd; wethers, lis; lambs, 6s 3d; cows, £5; yearling heifers, £2 6s; draught mares and geldings, £2O, £2l, and £3O; binder, £l9; roller, £l4; drill,;£ls; plqughs, £6; discs, £6; harrows, £4; cart,-£lO 10s; harness, tools, press, winower, poultry, and lot of sundries at fair prices.

PALMERSTON STOCK SALE,

(By Telegraph—Special to the Age.) BALMERSTON N., Last Night. Messrs Abi-aham and Williams, Ltd., ( report:— At our Palmerston North sale, held on the 16th inst., we had a medium entry of both ,sheep and cattle, which, owing, no doubt, to the continued dry weather, were dull of sale. However, we managed to 'quit the bulk of our entry, and the following prices were realised:,— Sheep: Mixed aged ewes, 7s; ' culs, 3s lOd to 5s sd; fat ewes, 12s .4d; lambs (forward) 9s; Romney rams, 2 guineas; English Leicester rams, 10s to 10s sd. Cattle: Weavers, 16s 6d to 20s 6d; store cows, 22s 6d to £2 2s; dairy cows, £6 15s.
