TINUI SCHOOL.
PICNIC AND PRIZE GIVING. *
(From Our Own ■•■ Correspondent.) The-annual school picnic-and distribution of prizes took place last Friday. The weather "was fine, and a large number of people were present, especially in the evening. The children went'through the items on the programme ' creditably. The clubswinging was one of the best items, especially that of Seila Grant and Adelaide O'Connor, The sewing .judges (Mesdames Brooks and Maunsell) said that the sewing was a credit to the children and to Mrs Sutton, the ] teacher. The School Committee chairman, Mr E.' H. Schofield, and the secrotary, Mr E. Collerton, gave two special prizes for reciting. These were won by Muriel Hancock and Gordon Speedy. The adults took the floor at 10.30 p.m., and dancing was kept up till the early hours of the morning.. • The prize list was as follows:—Standard 7. —Lucy Perry. Standard 6. — Maud Speedy, Elizabeth Johnston, Standard s.—Pratt Hancock, Frank Bartholomew. Standard 4. —Thomas Bovey, Nora Tuckett. Standard 3.. Muriel Hancock, Celia Grant, Maggie Johnston. Standard 2. —Gordon Speedy, Flora Perry, Adelaide O'Connor. Standard I.—James Mclsaac, Maud O'Connor. Second Primers.— William Dixon, Gavin Speedy, Hugh ■Munro, Winnie Grant, Effie Tuckett;, Tluia Page, Annie O'Connor, Rose Elizabeth Oliver, Ethel Munro, Lily Willis.
