PAHIATUA STOCK SALE,

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Palliatua sale on Tuesday as follows: —Wo offered over 15,000 sheep and a fair entry of cattle, to a large attendance, which included buyers from Manawatu, Waikato, and Wairarapa. Sheep of good quality sold readily, poorer sorts being harded to quit than of late. On the whole we have to report a very successful sale, over 11,000 sheep changing hands, the bulk of which was bought by Manawatu and Waikato buyers. Cattle sold readily- ai late rates. Quotations: — 2-tooth ewes, lis 9, 12s 3d to' 13s, poorer sorts,. 8s to 10s; 2, 4 and 0tooth ewes, 14s, others lis 6d to 12s 9d ; 4 and 5-year ewes, 8s 6d to 12s 9d ; woolly lambs, Gs 5d to 9s Id; shorn ,lambs, 6s 3d to 7s 9d; culls, 2s to 4s; 2-tooth Romney rams, £3 3s to £4 4s; Lincoln rams, 3to 3sgns; forward bullocks, £5 15s 6d; 3-|-year bullocks,. £5 10s; steers, £4 10s; cows and calves, £3; forward cows, £3 os.

MASTERTON STOCK SALE

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report at their weekly sale at the Solway yards yesterday:— We offered a small catalogue of sheep and cattle. The sheep entries Mere of fair good quality all through, and a clearance was effected. In cattle, the bullocks failed to reach owners' reserves. Prime fat ewes made 13s lOd; medium, 10s to lis; fat and forward wethers, 14s; stores, lis; shorn lambs, 5s to 6s; breeding ewes, medium, 7s to 8s; cull's, 4s; 2-tooth Lincoln rams, 2 to 2£- guineas; other breeds, 1 to If guineas.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale at the Solway yards yesterday, when, they offered a yarding well \ip to advertised numbers. In our entry of lainlbs Messrs iNitz Bros.' 600 woolly lambs' brought from 8s to 8s 3d. The rest of our entry was principally f.m. ewes and small lambs, .which sold' up to late.; rates. Messrs .Abraham and Williams, j Ltd., report on the Mastercon . sale j held yesterday as follows: — The entry was-small- compared to the previous week, but the bulk of the stock changed. hands at slightly better, prices according to quality and condition to tli3 previous sale. Our entry was-.confined to sheep, no cattle being offered. A thousand wethers ,(two-topths)..on %half of Messrs A. and W. .Cameron, light wool] ed sheep, made 12s 9d.
