ST. MATTHEW'S CLUB.

The annual general meeting oFthe above Club was held in St... Matthew's Schoolroom last night. There was a fair attendance of members present. It was decided to form two Clubs—one .senior and one junior. Mr A. Wheeler, was appointed secretary. The election of the management committee will take place at a later, meeting. EXCELSIOR" CLUB. . The "annual meeting of the Excels , sior Hockey Club was held in Rankin's Rooms, Masterton, last evening. Mr J as. Pryor presided l over a, large' attendance of members. ( The annual report tvas -read-iand. adopted. The balance sheet, which showed a credit balance of £4 3s, was also adopted.

* decided to supply jerseys for the junior arid' third class teams. Eighteen new members were "elected.

The season will be • opened next Thursday afternoon, on the old .showgrounds. This afternoon, is to he devoted to preparing the ground.-It-was thought advisable to have a ciufoicaptain to supervise all the teams, and Mr H. Hall was appointed to the position. A, vote of thanks was accorded donors of trophies last season, and Mr Rankin for the use of Ms room. :

The secretary was instructed to make arrangements to play senior and junior matches with the Dannevirke Club on Easter Monday.
