MONTHLY MEETING

The Monthly meeting of tlie Mas-/ torton County Council was. held yesterday afternoon, there being present: Councillors W. J. Welch'(Chairman), I). J. Cameron, A. Murray, C. Kob- L bell, R. Beetham, J. Miller, J. Morris, and H. Toogood. ' Permission was granted Mr George Moore,, of Eparaima, to erect a fence near a creek adjoining his property. Mr G. H. Cullen, solicitor, wrote, pointing out that the diverting of the Waipoua river by Mr Woof, the contractor for the northern approaches, was seriously interfering with Culloty and Fouhey's approach contract. —The Clerk stated that any difficulty which may have arisen had now overcome. • ,

Mr E. L. Foster complained of the stock grazing on the roads in the vicinity of Rangitumau. —The attention of the Ranger has been drawn to t.be matter.

. Mr Isaac Pol, of Alfredton, '•vrote asking the Council to assist him in fencing the road boundary of his lari !.: —On the motion of Cr. Kebbell, it was' decided that the Council cannot sea its way clear to assist Mr Pol. The managing ratepayer of the Lansclowne water supply. recommended the ■extension of the district to include twenty . acres of Mr A.
