THE STUDY OF SOCIAL FACTS. (Received March 10, S.lO a.m.) SYDNEY, March 10. The Methodist Conference resolved ,to appoint avcoimnittee to collect and study social fr"ts, with the object of educating pul'V: opinion in the dire—tion of social r>uer which shall express the ideals and spirit ' of Christianity. The Rev. Mr. Beale, the mover of the resolutions, declared that the Church showed indifference to, most public questions: If the' Church had done its duty, to the working classes it would not have been necessary for them to turn to the trades unions and other organisations for relief. He strongly condemned the -inculcating of the spirit of militarism in the children.
