THE RIFLE MEETING.
The Rifle Association meeting at Trenthiaim,' which has been described as tlie "Bisley of New Zealand," has produced a -series of surprises. The climatic and other condiitons under which the meetinig was held were such as to .completely baffle the "cracks" of the Dominion, few. of whom were- found near the top of the list at the finish. The conditions of rifle shooting are undergoing a change; The bull's-eye is* to be. abolished, and something akiili, to war conditions is to be substituted. The older rifle shots will not, possibly, Appreciate the new order, of things. But these are days of innovation.
