TAIHAPE, Tuesday
A. 11. Middleton, foreman at the Powell Process Works at Rangiatua, while in charge of and working a "stumping devil" yesterday afternoon was, owing to the snapping of a hook, struck a blow on the side of the head, causing instantaneous death. The break occurred when the machine was at its maxi-
mum pressure. He leaves a widow and two children .
