SOUTH AFRICA v. AUSTRALIA.
WON BY AUSTRALIA BY SEVEN WICKETS.
MACARTNEY MAKES ANOTHER STAND.
(Received Last Night, 8 o'clock.) SYDNEY, March 7. The Fifth and last Test Match between the South Africans and Australia was concluded to-day in fine .weather, and resulted in an easy win for Australia by seven wickets. The South Africans, with 6 wickets down for 368, resumed their second irinings to the bowling of Whitty and Hordern. Whitty struck a length, and became almost unplayable, and quickly disposed of the remaining batsmen, the innings closing for 401. Requiring 198 runs to win, Ausralia commenced their second innings, -and succeeded in knocking up the runs for the loss of three wickets. Macartney again made another good stand, scoring his 56 runs in 35 minutes. Ho was finally caught on the boundary off a full-pitcher from Schwarz. Following are the scores: — AUSTRALIA.
