HOKITIKA, Last Night. Splendid weather prevailed; today, when the. Fire Brigades competitions were - continued. • About ioQO peorle were present. Following are the results:— The Reel and Ladder Event, which commenced on Saturday, resulted'as follows: Timaru, 59 3-5 "sees., 1; Invercargill, 61 4-ssecs, 2; Orieliunga, 62 2-ssecvs., 3; Wanganui 63 4-ssecs>. (including 4secs. penalty) 4; Greymouth 65 l-ssee. (including 2 sees, penalty) 5; Dunedin City 66 2-ssecs. 6. Carterton, \Roslyn, Dunedin. South, Hillside JNewjnarket-, Nasebv, Westport, Mosgiel, Devon-port and Marton followed in the. order mentioned. Hastings, Waimate, Dannevirke, Napier, Gisborne, Mount Eden, Patea, Oamaru, opit, and Tima.ru Railway were "blown out." Reef ton, Stratford, Caversham,, Hokitika, Alexandra iSouth and Masterton were disqualified. :ManuaF Engine Event, 5 men, list prize £ls, second £lO, third £5, fourth £2 10s: —Carterton, 48 4-5 sees., 1; Napier, 50 2-ssees., 2; Hastings, 51 2-ssecs., 3; Spit, '53 l-ssecs., 4; Kumara, 58 2-ssecs., 5; Wanganui, 59secp., 6. Gisborne, Greymouth, Dannevirke, Dunedin City and' Waverley were, next in tne order mentioned. Mastert-on, Eastowin Railway, Timaru and Greytown were disqualified. Rescue invent, two men, first prize £7 10s, .second £5, third £3; fourth £2:— Dunedin City 23secs., 1; 1 Napier, 2; Greymouth, 23 4-5 sees., 3; Onehunga 24 1-ssees., 4; Wanganui,, 25 l-ssecs.; .5; Tinjaru Railway, ■' /- \ Dunedin ttty and'' Na-' pier tied in tho first run, and. in the run-off the former team was successful Mt.'Eden, Hastings, GelTtlctine, oaversham, ±lolntiKa, Masterton, Kumara, Auckland City. Dunedin' South, Mosgiel, Waimate, Invercargill Railway, Hillside Railway, Devonport, Juunterville, Kai"apoi, Stratford, Reefton, and St. Rilda. followed in the above order, wi«a the exception of Caversham and Geraldine, 26 2-ssecs. each, and Waimate and Mosgiel, 28 2-5 sees. each. Eastown Railway, Rotorua, Patea, : Spit, lnvesrcargiil, Oamaru and. Maori Hill were "blown out," and Timaru, Gisborne, JNew Brighton wer© disqualified. Ladder Race, one man, first prize £4 and : gold medal, second £3, third City 1, Masterton 2, Waimate 3, Oneliunga 4, Invercargill 5, Napier 6. The winner'is timewwars r 7 2-ssecs. ; :■„. : . So far the following. teams have competed in the- Disabled Hose event:— Dannevirke 80 ■ 2-ssees., -Oiiteitle Itailway 84secs., Jtlokitika 84 3-ssecs., Greymouth 84 4-ssecs., Cartorton 84 4-ssecs., Naseby 93 4-ssecs. .This and the remaining events "will be continued on Wednesday. In the Dry Coupling event, which eventuated on Saturday, Dunedin City and Hokitika tied for second place, and in the run off to-day the visiting were successful. :
