NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. By Telegraph — Press Association. -WELLINGTON, Last Night. • The Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast: — ( Except in the southernmost districts the weather has been unsettled and cloudy, .and showers have fallen in many parts of t7io North Island. Strong south-easterly winds have prevailed in the north, but variable elsewhere, and squally conditions ruled last nighit in Cook Strait. The barometer has been.unsteady. .. Present indications are for strong easterly winds in and northward of Cook Strait; and variable elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall temporarily everywhere. The. conditions are'likely to,remain unsettled for a short'period, especially in the North Island, where showers are probable at times. !■'..''.■•
