AUCKLAND SHARE MARKET, Mr J. T. Hendry, sharebroaer, of Auckland (in conjunction with Messrs C. C. Ross and Co., his local agents),, report the following quotations of business at the first pall of the Auck- ' land Stock Exchange yesterday |: morning:— I
WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. [By Telcjiuph—Vrcn Association.'] The'fifth and last wool sale of the present season was held to-day, about 2500 hales being offered. Buyers attended in good numbers, and competition, for the better classes, was keen throughout. There was an all-round advance of about a £d over prices at last sale. Wools offered, however, were. mostly of'..a- very rough character.;being late shorn, seedy, or very much bush-stained. Prices averaged as under :—Halfbred, inferior and heavy, B|d to 9*d; finecrossbred, inferior and heavy, Tid to B£d; medium crossbred and.Romhey, medium to good, Bid to 10Jd; inferior and heavy, 7d to BJd; coarse crossbredbreds and : Lincoln, medium to good, 8d to 9d; inferior and heavy, 6|d to 7|d; pieces, medium to good, o|d to 7d; inferior or heavy, 4£d to sd:.bellies, medium to, good, 5d to S^d; , inferior and heavy, 4d to sd; locks, inferior and heavy, 3d to 3|d; lambs, free of seed, medium to good, Sgd to 9|d; inferior and heavy, 6Jd to Sid; lambs, seedy, medium to pood, 7d to 7|d; inferior and heavy, 6d to. 7d. v
Messrs Levin and Co., report:—The | fifth'arid last sale of the-season was | held in the Wellington Town HaU yesterday afternoon, when 2,500 hales were offered by the associated brokers; Our catalogue comprised 250 , bales. Buyers were present in good force, but practically no good lots were offered, most of the wool being heavy back country clips. Lambs' wool was in good supply. .. Competition was very keen for all lines, and compared with the February sale, prices advanced £d all round. We sold every lot in out catalogue under the hammer. Tlte following is the range of prices realised, as compared with February's sale. (By Telegraph—Special to the-Age.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. ~ The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., reports: — The last sale or the season was held to-day, when the Wellington Associated Brokers offered 'catalogues comprising about 2500 bales, of which our i proportion was 380 hales. There was a good attendance of buyers, including Home and foreign operators. .Al-' though for the most part the' fleece wool was. of inferior quality and, the lambs wool not up to the usual average, bidding was brisk, and the cata logues were practically cleared at an advance of, Jd to £d per lb on February prices. All clean lambs wool was in keen demand/and l-ealized from 73d to 93d; dingy,and dirty from 7d to "id; and very seedy from 4id to 6;} d.
