MASTERTON STOCK/' SALE,

Messrs Aoraham and Williams, Ltd., report:— The weekly sale at Solway, Masterton, was conducted by the Associated' Auctioneers yesterday, when a full yarding;.was submitted to a very ; fair attendance of the pulblic. The quality of the yarding as a whole was not equal to the previous week as far as the sheep were concerned, and very few cattle were ottered. Buyers for young ewes were in attendance from a distance, and eager to purchase stock suitable for their requirements. Messrs Laing Bros.' annual draft unfortunately were unable' to reach the yards owing to the flooded state oS the; rivers. They will, however, come forward next week. We sold the whole of our enti'y at satisfactory prices to vendors, but ''he -aie i )) til» whole was not so m.. m effected by the recent rains as anticipated. Four-tooth .-ewes (Robert Buick) 16s; 4 and 6-tooth ewes (same vendor) 14s 6d; sound-mouth ewes, 10s 3d to lis 6d; syr ewes, with fair mouths, 9s-to 9s 6d; crocks 4s 9d to 5s 6d; fat ewes, light. 12s; 2-tooth wethers, lis 6d to 12s; 2too.th ewes' (small) 13s sd; culls, 10.s> to 10s 3d; small cull lambs, 3s lid [ to 4s; 2£yr steers, good condition, £5 ss; 18-months steers, £3 13s 6d; cows and calves', £2 10s to £3 9s 6d; mixed weahers, 21s 6d to 295; weaner pigs, Bs.
