The Feiding.Star states ' that Mr Robert McNab,, ex-Minister of Lands, has definitely decided to contest 'fh© Palmerston North seat at the ?oming election. • Mr George Robertson, of the Government -Insurance Department in Wellington, who is well-known'in Maswas married at Palmerston North yesterday to Miss Doris Agnes Robinson, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Robinson. Mr A, Macfai'lane, of Pahiatua, who is Chairman of the National Dairy Association and of the Ballance Dairy 'Company is spoken of as a likely can- '' didate for one of the vacant seats, for the Wairarapa on the Wellington Harbour Board. ■'» Sir Joseph and Lady Ward were entertained at a. garden party in Wellington yesterday afternoon, prior, to their departure for the Old Country. Mr and Mrs W. T. Mansfield left Masterton for Wanganui by the midday train yesterday. There were a number of friends at the station to bid them "good-bye." An additional senior scholarship has been awarded to the Masterton District High School, the successful candidate being Arthur L. Thompson.
