PALMERSTON N., Last Night. :•; The mosbsovere earthquake exper r ienced here for some years was felt at 3.45 o'clock this morning. There were two shocks—the first of, five seconds, and the second of eight seconds in duration. The shake was travelling from south-west to north-east., VNo : ' damage though the shake considerably'alarmed nervous people: CHRISTGHURCH, Last Night. A shock of earthquake was felt at ■' an early hour this morning. There was; "lore of a swaying motion than : the usual jerk. "'The shock, wris v-.ftW■'■'■ serious enough to cause any damage.
