SCULLING MATCH
HAGNEY V. DAY. HAGNEY WINS ON A FOUL. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) SYDNEY, February 26. The sculling match for £SO a-side, which took place on the Parramatta River yesterday between Frank Hagney and Geqrge Day, resulted in a hollow win for Day. The race, however, was awarded to Hagney on a foul. The race was a good one for threequarters of a mile, where Day had an advantage of a length. Day crossed into Hagney's water, and the latter, with a spurt, made up the leeway and crashed into Day at the mile. Hagney claimed a foul and refused to go on. Day finished a quarter of a mile to the good. Beach, who was the judge, awarded the- race to Hagney. The time recorded at the foul was 6min 40sec.
