: MARTINBORQU ( GfI SALE. _.. .; . \ Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd./ re'port as follows: —We lield our usual monthly sale in our Martinborough yards last Thursday. The yarding was chiefly composed of ewes of good and fair quality, and competition for the . former was very keen. A feature of the sale was the annual draft of ewes from Mr J. McLeod's "Whakapuni" flock. For the past three years we have sold these ewes hy public auction and competition on each occasion has been exceptionally keen.. The ewes came forward in splendid order and condition for this season, record prices being established for the different lots offered, 200 2-tooths bringing 17s 2d, 200 o-year ewes 14s 7d,100 4- ■ year old ewes 14s lid, 100 4-ye'ar ewes 14s 3d. Prices on a par with late rates were also ruling for all the other lots oifered and at the end of the day wexmly passed out two/lots unsold. We quote as follows:—2-tooth ewes, 12s Gd; s.m. ewes, on account of Mr R. McLeod, lis 2d; others at from 9s 3d to 10s Id; cull ewes, 4s 9d; 2tooth, wethers lis 3d,; medium woolly" lambs', 7s !W: small lambs, 3s 2d to 4s 9d.,
