."■.'. TIMARU, Last NigM. . No fewer than 235 applications have been lodged at the Timaru Land Office. There are many duplications, some putting in for ten sections. Some South Canterbury men kdged their. applications at Christchurch. The examination andi ballot take place at Timaru on Monday. Fifteen other runs," containing the existing homesteads,, will be auctioned on Tuesday. Remark has been made that there is no condition requiring the runs to be stocked, and that itwould pay to hold them idle for the future good-will.
