REBELLION DRAWING TO A CLOSE. (Received Last Night, 8.35 o*clock.) SYDNEY, February 23, /The latest news is to the effect that the rebellion in Ponapi Island is still in orbgress, though it is apparently drawing to a close. The rebels' ammunition is giving out, and they are using nails and glass in place of bullets against German primitive expeditions. The Germans have captured 281 prisoners. The Germans had a naval officer, petty officer, and five New Guinea police killed, and a naval officer w6unded. Besides taking the prisoners mentioned above, the German expedition shot many Ponapi rebels.
