MASTERTON STOCK SALE
.The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on the first sale held in the Sol way yards yesterday, as follows: —All good classes of stock right through the sale found a ready market, the only lines to drag being poor and inferior lots Of our large catalogue of sheep and cattle only a few poor class sheep and inferior cattle went out unsold. We quote: §heep\- Best 2-tooth ewes, 14s lid; others, 13s and 12s 9d; small, 10s; sound' good woolled breeding ewes, lis to 13s; older sorts, 6s to 8s; culls, ss; lambs, best, 9s; medium; 7s 9d; small, 5s 6d; fat ewes, 12s; store wethers, 2 and 4-tooth, 12s;" 2-tooth medium, lis; small, 10s. Forty 2tooth Lincoln rams were sold at from 3i to 4£; guineas; full mouth 2-tooth" Romneys, H to 2} guineas; 2-tooth Southdowns, 3 guineas; 2-tooth Shropshires, 3 guineas.
