Hutchinson's father, - the latter and -one of the guests sue- j cumbed, was arrested at Guernsey,' Channel Islands. | He committed suicide at the mom- ' ent of his arrest, by taking poison. Hutchison was suspected because a bottle of arsenic was missing from his employer's shop. He carried the poisoned coffee from the kitchen to the guests in the dining-room'. It is understood Hutchison was suffering from some form of dementia, and was apparently jealous-9f a deceased guest's attention to a' woman. For several. days he stayed in Jer- ; sey, under the name of "Harrison." He was growing a beard, and remained indoors. He stated he belonged to' Hford.

When a sergeant of police was pursuing him up the stairs of a boarding house in Guernsey, Hutchison drew a phial containing prussic acid from his pocket and swallowed the •contents..

The sergeant seized the phial, but death was almost immediate.
