ON STRIKE.
' IMPLEMENT WORKERS. .(■■. ' ■ MASS MEETING. (Received February 21, 9.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, February 2i. Two thousand seven hundred implement workers are now on strike. A mass meeting, attended by fifteen hundred persons, unanimously endorsed the executive's action in calling a strike at the Sunshine works. Only 250 out of 1650 employees are working. Other shops are similarly placed. . An effort is being made to get the workers on the wharves to refuse - to handle non-union manufactures intended for export. The'request will be considered by the - Waterside Workers' Federation to-day. While the strike continues, police holidays will be curtailed in order to have ready a large constabulary force in the event of riots. So far, there have been no signs of disorder.
