Is a wife liable,,for' goods which her husband orders and which are put down to her' account ? A woman was sued in theWaiiganui Court recent ly for the amount of a chemist's bill, which she alleged had ieen run up by her husband. He had sent herself and' the children l to the ,\ store for several purchases; including a syringe, ointment, and\boracic acid, and though she did- hot authorise them to be put down ; to her account," or agree to pay for, them, they were charged to her. Her husband was not now living with her. The plaintiff alleged that defendant had the use and possession of the articles .arid had never '.repudiated the accountj but had on the contrary ' "tacitly admitted the debt.' After hearing the evidence of plaintiff's agent, and defendant, his "Worship non suited the plaintiff.
