THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

The change of programme at the Foresters' Hall last evening was gieeted with,, a crowded, audience, which heartily appreciated, the excel-• lent bill, of fare provided.;: ■'•./ The ' dramas are such as" to please all tastes. There is a- strong cowboy and Indian picture full of dash and vitality in "Winona"; a particularly interesting and instructive story in ; "The Man Who Learned"; a very (touching study by. the Imperial Company in "Lest We Forget,",and a powerful Italian play by the Milano Comoany in "Napb torianp."_ "How She Won Him" is a Vita-" graph comedy of exceptional merit, while-'another'comedy "A Gold Neck • 'lace," produced by the American Biograph Company, is full of fun j and frolic. "Palermo and Its Monu-ments"-is a natural colour film [ taken by the Cines Company, who are now making a specialty of scenic photography. There is plenty, to amuse in the comics, the best of which was the Foolshead picture, "The Victim of Honesty." "Italian Cavalry Manoeuvres" and "Cuttle Fishing" are very interesting pictures, while Pathe's. Gazette supplies pictorially the news of the world. Good music was supplied by the orchestra. The programme will be repeated to-night.

JEFFRIES FIGHT PICTURES.

Despite inclement weather, a large audience assembled at the Town Hall to witness the. first production in Masterton of the famous battle between Jeffries and Johnson. Unfortunately the engine had suffered somo slight damage on the journey to Masterton,-and after a stant had been made it blew off, damaging one of the leavers. Mr Foster, representative for MacMahon Bros., announced from the platform that a postponement of the entertainment was inevitable. He also stated that, so as not to. disappoint the Masterton public, bw would postpone the Dannevirke season so as to enable him *o give the advertised show in i Masterton on Wednesday evening.
