MASTERTON RAM FAIR.
ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS' BEPORT. Messrs Abraham and 1 Williams,* Ltd., report on the second day's sale as follows:—Stud and Flock Lincolns .and Leicesters were offered, our catalogue comprising sheep from most of the leading breeders in the North Island. Buyers duly appreciated the quality of the rams submitted by us, and although ,the. sale was slow at the start- it soon became evident that they Avere prepared to pay good prices for good sheep, consequently we had no difficulty in effecting a clearance with the exception of a. few odd rams at pricec which were in most cases" far in excess of vendors' expectations. .Mr W. H. Wybourne, of Whenuakura, easily topped the market in both stud and flock sheep, buyers expressing fheir satisfaction at' being afforded the opportunity of competing for sheep of such exceptional merit; This, vendor's stud, sheep; sold sxi fromlO.to 73 guineas, 1 and averaged. £34 10s, flocks making from 6 to 14 guineas, averaging .£8 9s . Sd. Messrs.W. : Perry, B. Rayner, W. Rayner, R. Johnston, W. J. Welol., and McMaster's Estate also obtained 'good prices for their entries.- Not many English Leicesters were yarded, the demand was limited, and r. portion of our entry was iturned ouir unsold. The Fair just concluded 'may easily be considered a record for . th-2 Wairarapa, and there is nc doubt that breeders can rely on obtaining the highest prices for their stock, provided they submit sheep of first quality.
