MASTERTON BOROUGH.

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at a Special Meeting of the Masterton Borough i Council held on Tuesday, the. 14th day of February inst. IT was resolved I as follows: 1. THAT the Masterton Borough Council in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, and The Rating Act, 1908, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if.any) enabling it in that behalf, hereby resolves by special order to borrow by way of spev.al loan the sum of Four Thousand Pounds for the purpose of paying off the following special loan heretofore lawfully raised by the said Borough, namely:— Special loan of £4OOO authorised to be raised for the purpose of establishing an abattoir for the purposes of the Borough, of Masterton and secured by % , special rate made and levied on the 15th day of May, 1905. THAT the loan be called The Abattoir Loan, 1910. THAT the currency of the said Special Loan shall be for a period of thirty-five years commencing on the thirtieth day of May, 1910, and "maturing on the thirtieth day of May, 1945. THAT the interest on the said special loan be at the rate of £4 10s per centum per annum, and be payable half-yearly on each thirtieth day of June and thirty-first day of J December.

THAT the form of security for the payment of the principal and interest of the said special loan be debentures (and relative , coupons) in a form in conformity with the provisions ...of The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments each for the sum of £50.0. • THAT a. sinking fund or an annual sum of £6O be and the same is hereby established in connection with the' said loan, sucli annuals nn to be paid by equal half-yearly payments on the thirtieth day of, June and the thirty-first day of December in every year. ,

THAT the Council doth hereby appropriate, and pledge as security for the repayment of the said 'special loan and the interest, sinking fu a i "and other charges thereon a special rate 'of one-eighth of a penny in the pound to be made and levied by the 1 Council by Special Order upon the unimproved rateable value" of all rateable property of and within the administrative area of the Borough of Masterton. THAT the principal and interest and sinking fund shall be payable at the Post Office at Masterton to the credit of the Public Trustee or at the Bank of New Zealand,' Wei- < lington', at the option of the Public Trustee. 2. THAT the Masterton Borough Council in pursuance -and exercise;

THAT the Masterton Borough, Council doth hereby under its Common Seal authorise .the raising of a special loan of Three Thousand ■ One Hundred and Fifty-five pounds (£3155) for the purpose of providing 1 a moiety of the estimated cost, of 1 constructing TWO BRIDGES over the WAIPOTJA RIVER at the northern entrance to" the Town of Masterton, together with 26''chains of approaches thereto. 4. THAT in pursuance and exercise of the- powers vested, in it in that" behalf'-by the. Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Masterton Borough Council do hereby under, its'J Common Seal RESOLVE that for the J purpose of, providing the interest J and other* charges : upon a loan of. * Three Thousand Hundred:,and • Fifty-five pounds; (£slss) authorised \ to be raised by the - Council of -the said "''Borough' under the"" provisions of . the aboye^meiitiohedi.. Acts, 1 -' or; otherwise as aforesaid; for "providing a moiety of .the ' estimated-.'Costiidf constructing: TWO BRIDGES. over the Waipoua River at the northern entrance to., the Town of Masterton, together, with, 26 chains of APPROACHES thereto, the t said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0.09 pence in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Masterton Borough, and that such special rate, shall be an.annually re? ciirring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half year-, ly on the thirtieth day of June and the thirty-first day ;of December in each and "every year during the cur-, rency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and. a half years, or until the loan is fully paid oft'. The rate of interest tp be Three Pounds Ten Shillings (£3 10s) per centum per annum. ' ' l 5. THAT the Masterton Borough Council doth hereby-under its Common Seal authorise.the, raising ?of a -special loan* of One Thousand -Six Hundred and Nine Pounds sterling (£1609) for the purpose of relaying defective public sewers in Cole Street and Lincoln Road highways within the said Borough in accordance with plans, sections, specification and estimates approved" of by the MINISTER OF HEALTH by an instrument under his hand bearing date the 30th day of November, 1910. *

6. THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in. that behalf by ' the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, The Public Health Act, 1908, aiid of all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in .that behalf, the Mastcrton Borough Council do hereby under its Common Seal RESOLA'E "that for the purpose of providing the intorest and other charges upon a loan of One Thousand Six Hundred and Nine Pounds sterling (£1609) authorised to be raised by the Council of the said Borough' under the provisions of the a.bove-nientioned Acts of otherwise as aforesaid for relaying defective public sewers in Cole Street and Liucoln Road ;highways' within, the said Borousli in accordance with plau|, sections, specifications, and estimates approved of by the MINISTER .OF HEALTH by an ihstrum'eivtf - .Wider his hand bearing date the 30th day of November, 1910, the

said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0.06 pence in the pound sterling ..upon the rateable value of all rateable property of that portion of the said Borough as denned and described in a special order made by the said Council appearing upon page 103 New Zealand Gazette 1903, and that such special rate shall he an annually recurring rate .during the currency of such loan and be payable half yearly on the Thirtieth day of June and the Thirty-firdt day of December m each and every year during the currency of -such loan, being a period of thirtyisix and a-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
